These Things Grow Anywhere
Here is a picture of the purple verbena I talked profusely about on a post from the other blog. They grow anyhwere and live through anything. If you need a pretty, flowering plant that will withstand hot, Texas summers, this is the one for you.
A couple of years ago, our dogs started having seizures. We suspected the chemicals we were using in our yard. Then I was getting fed up with all of the plants dying in our hout, humid summers. So the decision was made to go no pesticides with native plants. Along the way, we discovered the Backyard Habitat program, and decided to go for it. The decision has been extremely rewarding. And it goes to prove that anyone can do this in their backyard.
